A Dream for the Land
Eight acres. A weathered farmhouse. Woods filled with whispering pines and untold stories. We imagine this place becoming a sanctuary for the senses and the soul—where art, embodiment, rest, and community all have space to root.
We dream of:
“Barefoot in the Grass” dance hours — neighbors stopping by to dance under the sky, then heading home lighter.
A moss labyrinth, walked slowly and barefoot.
Woodland paths leading to small, sacred spaces: a trampoline hidden in the trees, a booth for speaking with ancestors, a music grove, handmade tea houses, build-your-own altars.
Music under the magnolia, from open mics to twilight concerts.
A tiny maple soft-serve stand by the train tracks, maybe in a red caboose.
Forest dwellings: treehouses, stained glass cottages, natural art installations built by visiting artists.
Hands-on gatherings: herbal workshops, flower picking, somatic practices, storytelling, potlucks, skill shares, and seasonal celebrations.
It’s a long-range vision, a slow-growing dream. But we wanted to say it out loud—and see who else feels the resonance.
Want to Dream With Us?
We’re not quite ready to begin, but we’d love to hear from you if this sparks something. Whether you're a tea-lover, artist, woods-walker, grant wizard, musician, somatic healer, or someone who just wants to dance barefoot in the grass—we’d love your thoughts.
Would you want to be part of something like this?
Do you know of grants or creative models that support community care spaces?
Is there something you’d add to the vision?
